Online satellite tournaments hae just begun at Intertops Poker and Juicy Stakes Poker that will ultimately send the lucky winner to the Caribbean after Christmas. First and second step online satellite tournaments have just begun and continue until this Saturday, December 6. The Final, where a $5000 prize package will be awarded, is on Sunday. The winner will compete in the Main Event on the Caribbean Poker Cruise.
Intertops Poker and Juicy Stakes Poker have sent a lot of players to live tournaments lately. Just recently one online tournament winner won a trip to the Borgata $1 Million GTD and before that two online poker players went to St Maarten for the Caribbean Poker Tour.
The last online player that Intertops/Juicy Stakes sent to a live tournament was eliminated after Day 2 but glad for the experience.
“It was absolutely fantastic to play in a tournament that the average grinder would not be able to afford to play in,” said Bruce B, an online tournament winner who won a $4200 prize package to play in the Borgata $1 Million Guaranteed Championship Event. “Having the chance to play in a field of that caliber with the chance to win a life-changing amount of money was incredible.”
“With the large amount of chips and long blind levels my strategy for day one was to chip up slowly, not risk chips. Day two we came back blinds were 1000 2000. Go card dead for an hour then at 2000 4000 I go all in with QQ get called by AK and hold for a double up. About a half hour later I get AA on the button. Get 2 limpers and I make re-raise to 16000 with 72000 behind. Large blind goes all in for 70,000. Limpers fold I call. He shows 88. Wait for it……..yes an 8 on the river. AAArrrrgggghhhhh. (and I thought people only two outed you online) I went out somewhere around 100.”
The prize package to be awarded at Sunday’s Final includes 7 nights aboard the Oasis of the Seas sailing from Florida to St. Thomas, St. Maarten and The Bahamas and one $1100 buy-in to the Card Player Poker Tour Main Event January 12th.
